Is this a home schooling centre

No, GoFocus Learning Centres provide remedial sessions to learners 1 hour once a week (or more if needed).

How do I know if Gofocus will benefit my child?

If you can answer “yes” to any of the following questions, then our programme is definitely what you are looking for: 

Does your child currently qualify for exam concessions, i.e. extra time, reader or a scribe?
Does your child struggle with the following when reading?
Reversal of letters, for example ‘b’ and ‘d’;
Reading of sight words – can read it today, but tomorrow it seems difficult;
Comprehension;
Omitting syllables (either beginning, middle or end of words);
Reading the first part or letter of a word and then make up own words.
Does your child struggle with the following when writing?
Reversal of letters, for example ‘b’ and ‘d’;
Staying on the lines;
Letter formation;
Only write parts of words (leaving out syllables);
Pen / Pencil grip;
Does your child struggle with concentration?
Daydreaming;
Struggle to sit still and focus on the work he/she is busy with;
Teacher complains about task completion;
Does your child experience dyslexia symptoms?

How much are school fees

The fees vary from R175 to R220 per hour or fixed monthly fees of +/- R650 per month.

How do I know if my child is a visual learner?

Visual learners are learners who think and read in pictures therefore the reading of sight words are sometimes difficult. The GoFocus representative in your area will perform an informal evaluation to determine weaknesses and strong areas of the learner.

Will GoFocus enhance speed reading?

Not necessarily, this is not a speed reading course, it will however assist a learner to read more fluently with a much higher level of comprehension.

How old must my child be to enrol with GoFocus?

We work with learners from grade 1 to grade 12 in both English and Afrikaans.

My child already excels at school and wants to acquire higher grades, will GoFocus be the program to follow?

No, it is intended for learners who really struggle with reading, handwriting, spelling, comprehension, etc.
